We have recently transitioned our infrastructure to the Atlassian Forge platform to enhance security and privacy by hosting app components directly within Atlassian’s cloud environment.
We are committed to complying with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Australian Privacy Act.
Information We Collect
We operate under a "Privacy by Design" philosophy. We do not collect, store, or sell personal data from users of our ikuTeam Office Apps.
Our apps are designed to function without requiring or requesting personal information (such as names, email addresses, or contact details) from you. Your identity and the content of your documents remain within your control and the Atlassian environment.
Infrastructure and Data Processing
While our app's primary UI and logic are hosted on the Atlassian Forge infrastructure, certain advanced document processing tasks are handled by our proprietary ikuTeam Office engine.
- Atlassian Forge Hosting: The core of the app runs within Atlassian’s secure infrastructure, ensuring that your data stays within the Atlassian boundary as much as possible.
- Remote Processing (AWS): To provide high-performance editing features, data may be processed by our engine running on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Data in Transit: All data sent to our AWS engine is encrypted via industry-standard TLS protocols. Once the processing task (e.g., rendering or editing a document) is complete, the data is flushed from the engine's memory.
Data Residency
We respect your need for regional data sovereignty. Our AWS infrastructure is strategically located to ensure data residency compliance:
- European Union: Data for EU-based customers is processed in AWS Frankfurt.
- United States: Data for US-based customers is processed in AWS US N. Virginia EAST 1.
By using our apps, you acknowledge that data processing occurs in these regions based on your location or Atlassian site configuration. We do not move your data between these regions without technical necessity or user configuration.
Data Retention
Because we do not collect personal data, we do not retain personal information.
- No Persistent Storage: Our AWS engine processes data in volatile memory (RAM) and does not write your document content to persistent storage or databases.
- User Control: Any data generated or uploaded remains subject to your own organization’s data retention and deletion policies within Atlassian.
Security Measures
We prioritize the integrity and availability of your information through several layers of protection:
- Atlassian Forge Security: By leveraging Forge, our app benefits from Atlassian's built-in security controls and isolated execution environments.
- Encryption: We use end-to-end encryption for data in transit.
- Access Controls: We maintain strict internal protocols to ensure no ikuTeam personnel have access to the data being processed by the ikuTeam Office engine.
Changes to this Policy
If ikuTeam is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information (which is limited to your licensing/purchase record via the Atlassian Marketplace) may be transferred.
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. The most current version will always be posted on our website. If a revision significantly reduces your rights, we will notify you via the email associated with your Atlassian Marketplace account.
