A SharePoint Jira integration connects your SharePoint and OneDrive folders to Jira, so files stay in Microsoft 365 while your team previews, edits, and attaches them directly inside Jira and JSM issues, without uploading copies or losing permissions.

SharePoint Connector for Jira connects SharePoint and OneDrive to Jira, so you can embed, preview, and edit those files and folders directly inside Jira issues while SharePoint stays the system of record.

By default, anyone with access to a connected folder in Jira can view and edit it, using the app's own simplified permissions. For tighter control, turn on Mirror Storage Permissions so access follows your actual SharePoint and OneDrive permissions instead, or restrict access using Jira groups. Either way, Jira's own project permissions always take final precedence.
